It's a gorgeous summer day, and Caleb's wearing an a-line tank and knee-length shorts as he holds a copy of the play Neil's picked for Shakespeare in the Park. He's supposed to be helping him run lines (like Neil even needs it, he knows more about Shakespeare than anyone Caleb's met), but he keeps getting distracted by the soft golden joy radiating from him. Neil will read a line, and Caleb will get caught up listening and feeling, and find himself just watching him, smiling softly while Neil waits for the response.
Then Caleb blushes and fumbles through the lines, and it's silly, and embarrassing, but Neil isn't mad. He's quietly amused and fond, and Caleb finds himself smiling even wider.
"Sorry," he mumbles, looking shyly at the book in his hand.
