"Oh, shit, no, that's legit," he says, laughing. He doesn't have his stuff from home, so he can't tell show her his student ID, but he adds, "I actually had kind of the same argument with Adam, once. Before he knew about my ability, I mean. He was like, 'Just because our school mascot's a knight doesn't mean you have to be a knight in shining armor.'" He doesn't do an impression or anything, but just thinking about Adam like this, in much less abstract ways than he usually does now that he's with Neil, has his smile fading, and he looks down at his knee.
