Ever since the incident, Michael's trying to be better at his connections, at least with the phone. They'd used his phone and his lack of texting to get away with it, which means that he needs to man the fuck up and get better. It's why he'd ended up calling Caleb when he saw what day it was.

"Hey, man," he says, after getting the answering machine. "Sorry it's last minute, I just realized you might head to the shop, but I'm not gonna be there. It's uh, it's still too soon," he says roughly. He's not entirely sure he'll ever be ready. "But if you want to hang out, our door's always open."
